Older and Wiser

September 21, 2020

My 53rd birthday approaches this weekend which started me thinking about all those who celebrated their ‘big day’ during lockdown. I saw lots of very inventive ways that made birthdays special for those celebrating which was extremely heart-warming.

We humans can be very inventive and resourceful when it comes to spoiling those we love that’s for sure. Last weekend I celebrated a friend’s birthday with a socially distanced picnic which included an egg and spoon relay (wearing latex gloves of course!). It was great fun and, being very British, we chose to ignore the drizzle!

I’m much more fortunate than those who had to stay in their homes…I can actually go out to a real life restaurant which is ever so exciting… even though I have got very good at being a tad anti-social, it will be nice to be out and to see friends! We are heading to one of my favourites in Wimbledon, the Lighthouse, and then on Sunday we are trying out Carpool comedy at Syon Park which should be fun… and something a bit different!

To help everyone celebrate with me, we will be doing a ‘Lucky Dip’ giveaway this week. A free (secret) gift with every purchase, just so that you can all unwrap a surprise gift with me 😊.

I’ve also added some more bits to the sale. Not everything is on the website so do give me a call and come on down for your one to one appointment to make sure you don’t miss out. Here's a little video of some sale goodies that aren’t on the website…

Apologies… I made a couple of small errors on the video so, just to correct… The mellow yellow Masai long shirt/jacket is called Nakata, not Jakarta (I’m obviously dreaming of more exotic places)! And the Robell Bella spotty crops are actually navy and white, not black and white. Sorry!

Most people seem to be really happy with the appointment system for the time being (not those who don’t receive my emails and don’t realise that’s what we’re doing at the moment but…) and I had a lovely email from two very nice ladies this week which brightened my day…

“Hi Ali. We want to say thank you for reopening the shop. It was so enjoyable to come in and try on items in the sure knowledge that everything is well organised with safety in mind. A happy hour spent choosing something new to wear really lifted the spirits. Thank you and long may you continue.”

A big thank you to Caroline and Liz. That was a delightful surprise!

I’ve got new deliveries of masks due this week and next so call or email me if you need any more supplies.

Take care one and all and have a great week!

And Lastly…
